I see progress!

The good news, i do see progress! I feel stronger, i am seeing changes in my body, i feel great! The bad news, my hamstrings and adductors are REALLY tight!

I'm having fun, about to go for a bike ride, yesterday i hiked for three hours, tomorrow a casual four hour stroll along the ocean. I'm doing a good mix of climbing, running, yoga, pilates and walking.

People are resonding well to the fundraising. So far i have almost $2000. It doesn't look like that on the website but i have things to send in. If you would like to have me carry a prayer flag up with your name or the name of someone you know, go here

More next week!

Personal Training!

I had my first session with a personal trainer, she helped me figure out what muscles i was over and under using. What an amazing difference! The nest day I ran Point Lobos 20 minutes faster with a lot less fatigue. I couldn't belive it!

Amazingly, i have gotten really in touch with my breasts from my work with the Breast Health Project, now it is time to really get into my pelvis.

In Chinese Medicine breast health and uterine (or reproductive) health are related. To experience this within my own body is very powerful. As i train for this climb, i am getting in touch with the places of fear inside my body. My pelvis is definately one of them.

I claim this body and I claim my life as I get up in the morning and run or step or squat. It is such a priviledge to be a part of this team.

Remember, if you want to sponsor me, go here!

Training inside and out

The decision to get out of bed earlier can be a mental game! It's cold out and i have a tendancy to be lazy... But i do and i take the drive to Point Lobos. I run/pant/walk/run/ the entire loop and feel so HAPPY. I love running outside! It's always harder for me physically than running on a treadmill, but infinately more rewarding.

January at the Gym can be a drag because everyone and their new years resolution is there. Chances are that less people will be there by February, but it makes it harder for me to go. I have my "set" i listen to on the stairmaster that keeps me climbing and i stole a photo of Hillary Swank from Vanity Fair that is a KICK ASS running photo (i think while she was training for million dollar baby). it motivates me!

Tomorow we are doing Soberanes - it's a great vertical hike with views of the ocean. I'll let you know - pant pant pant!

The Training begins!

When i saw the training schedule today and realized we have to be able to run for 6 miles, i almost lost my lunch! I went to the Gym and ran on the treadmill to see how much trouble i was in, i ran for 2 miles, but it took me 40 minutes. My best freind asked me if that wasn't walking fast! Ha, i have some work to do! To help me raise money for breast cancer prevention research click here!
